The key word is WestJet.

By booking your flights between Ottawa, Montreal, and Toronto in advance, you can save a TON of money, so book your Spring Break trip now. 21 days in advance…$29. WOW. I’m tempted to have me a little vacation.

If you’d rather not fly, VIA Rail always has some great deals going on–check out their current lineup here, including 50% off between Montreal and certain maritime provinces.

P.S. Remember to check your dates carefully before you click submit – you don’t want to pay more than the cost of your flight to change it, and with most deals the bookings are non-refundable!

look like less

How willing are you to spend your money (whether hard-earned, student loan, or allowance) on fashion that will go out of style in a month? 6 months? A year?

Beware how you spend your ‘spending money’. Clothing is necessary, but there are lines to be drawn. Especially when the store advertising campaign slogan is “Pay more to look like less,” no?

Consider buying clothing that is more traditional, long-lasting, and can be mix-and-matched or accessorized to create a number of outfits for a variety of occasions. Slumming it: we can do it for less.

Seasonal Affective Disorder is a form of depression that tends to strike in the dark days of winter.

A lot of students suffer from S.A.D. but can’t afford light therapy – well, here’s a fairly simple DIY lightbox! A friend of mine is planning to build me one soon.
